Integrity Week will be officially opened by Professor Mark Blows, Provost at UQ, followed by the keynote event—a panel discussion on the importance of integrity as a core value of the University.
Panel members will discuss honest, ethical and principled workplace culture and strategies for leaders to navigate and address challenges effectively.

Professor Tyler Okimoto is a Professor and Associate Dean (Academic) for the Faculty of Business, Economics & Law at UQ. His research interests include Understanding ethical “grey areas” and Justice repair – understanding and reconciling diverse ideas about what is required to do “justice” in the aftermath of a transgression.
Panel members:
Professor Mark Blows is the Provost at UQ. After serving for 7 years as the Head of the School of Biological Sciences, he became Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research) in 2017. He was appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Research and Innovation) in 2022 before becoming Provost in 2024. As Provost, he is responsible for building the University’s academic capability and embedding a performance culture in support of UQ's strategic objectives.
Emeritus Professor Louise Hickson is a Professor of Audiology, and she recently retired from the role of Executive Dean of the Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences at UQ. She has previously received the UQ Leadership Award, and in 2022 she became a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to tertiary education and audiology association.
Professor Thomas Maak is a global authority in the field of ethics and responsible leadership. He is the inaugural Professorial Chair in Ethics at UQ’s Business School. Prior to joining UQ in 2023, he was Director for the Centre for Workplace Leadership and Professor of Leadership at the University of Melbourne.
Mr Graham Newton is a partner with McGrath Nicol where he specialises in financial crime, workplace investigations and fraud risk management. He has more than 25 years of investigative and advisory experience providing value and guidance to clients across all levels of government, and the private sector. His projects have included foreign bribery, financial crime and corruption investigations, serious misconduct complaints and forensic technology investigations.
