Advancement and Community Engagement is pleased to present an in-depth look at the due diligence processes used to assess potential donors for reputational, legal and regulatory risks. Given the critical importance of maintaining the integrity and values of the institution, thorough vetting is essential to ensure that philanthropic support aligns with the University’s ethical and integrity standards.
We will outline our due diligence framework and discuss the balance between due diligence and fundraising priorities, including the key steps taken to evaluate prospective donors to ensure the necessary checks do not create unnecessary barriers to philanthropic engagement.
This session is designed to be interactive, with a workshop component that will allow participants to engage in real-world case studies. Attendees will have the opportunity to apply due diligence principles to example scenarios.
By the end of the session, participants will have a clear understanding of how due diligence safeguards the University’s reputation, fosters responsible philanthropy, and supports ethical decision-making in donor engagement.
