About Integrity Week

Following on from the success of Integrity Week over the past two years, Integrity Week is now an annual event in the university calendar.

Integrity Week 2026 will be held from Monday 16 March to Friday 20 March and is open to both UQ staff and students.

The purpose of the week is to foster a culture of integrity on campus by engaging staff and students in activities that highlight the importance of integrity in everything we do at UQ.

An Integrity Week working group meets monthly with representatives from the Academic Services Division, Graduate School, Human Resources and Workplace Relations, Information Technology Services, the Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation (ITaLI), Integrity Unit, Research, Ethics and Integrity, and Student Affairs Division.

Event logistics and registrations are managed by the working group, with the support of the UQ Events, Marketing and Communications, and Information Technology Services Teams.

Objectives of Integrity Week

  • Promote Awareness: Increase awareness and understanding of the importance of academic, research, and workplace integrity among students and staff.
  • Encourage a Speak-Up Culture: Encourage a culture where individuals feel safe and supported to speak up about integrity concerns without fear of retaliation, ensuring that all voices are heard and respected.
  • Encourage Best Practices: Share best practices and strategies for maintaining integrity in academic work, research activities, and workplace conduct.
  • Provide Resources and Support: Offer resources, workshops, information sheets and training sessions to help individuals develop the skills and knowledge needed to uphold integrity in their work.
  • Highlight Consequences: Educate the university community about the potential consequences of integrity violations, including academic penalties, legal issues, and damage to personal and institutional reputations.
  • Facilitate Dialogue: Encourage open discussions and dialogues about integrity-related challenges and solutions, fostering a collaborative approach to addressing these issues.
