Staff and student views of integrity in the age of GenAI
Reframing Integrity in Artificial Intelligence Enabled Education: Insights from Students and Staff
Join us for an engaging session exploring the second phase of our research into how students and educators experience and navigate artificial Aintelligence (AI). Building on insights from our large-scale student survey, we share new findings from our co-design workshops, called CoLabs, where students and staff worked together to rethink academic integrity in education.
In the session, you will hear how participants reframed integrity as a shared responsibility connected to universities’ roles in supporting learning, maintaining public trust, and preparing graduates for AI-enabled professions. They also highlighted the tensions between current policies, disciplinary norms, and AI-rich environments, calling for clearer expectations for responsible GenAI use, stronger staff role modelling and more opportunities for students to develop ethical reasoning.
What to Expect:
The session will combine a presentation of the research, with guided discussion points, brief chat-based participation and opportunity to reflect on how the project’s insights might apply to your own context.
Who should attend:
All staff and students.
Session outcomes:
Broaden your understanding of academic integrity by exploring how students and educators are reframing it as a shared, relational practice that shapes learning, trust and the role of the university.
Gain practice insights into what participants say they need to navigate AI confidently, ethically and with clearer expectations.
Identify practical ways to apply these insights in your role or context to support clearer and more ethical AI practices.
