Research Integrity
The value and benefits of research are vitally dependent on the integrity of research. There are principles and professional responsibilities that are fundamental to the integrity of research wherever it is undertaken.
The 2018 Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research (the Code) sets out core responsibilities that researchers and institutions are expected to adopt when conducting research in Australia or under the auspices of Australian institutions under the principles of:
- Honesty, rigour and transparency;
- Fairness, respect and recognition; and
- Accountability and promotion of responsible research practices
The primary responsibility for ensuring the integrity of research lies with individual researchers and institutions.
